Olympic increases capacity to build on solid ’99 sales

GREECEand Cyprus specialist Olympic Holidays has launched its summer 2000 programme with a targeted 28% increase in bookings.

The operator hopes to top 140,000 carryings in 2000, up from 110,000 this year. Managing director George Michalias said despite the Kosovo crisis, which hit early bookings to Greece, the split between the two destinations followed previous patterns, with 67% booked to Greece and 33% to Cyprus.

The brochure, on sale from today, features hotels, self-catering, all-inclusive properties and villas. New are departures from Exeter Airport, taking the number of regional airports to 11.

There are also low-season early-booking deals on selected holidays of up to £200 per couple and three days’ free car hire in Greece and Cyprus, plus two-weeks-for-the-price-of-one deals in Greece. Bookings made before the end of the year qualify for a £25 deposit offer.

Michalias said prices are either the same or lower than this year.

Lead price is £205 per person for a week at the Denise Hotel Apartments on Kos based on two sharing in May and including flights and transfers.
