Travel Counsellor swaps Northern Ireland for Barbados

County Derry agent Yvonne Campbell has moved to Barbados, thanks to a special visa for remote workers.

The Travel Counsellor headed to the Caribbean in December after obtaining the Barbados Welcome Stamp visa.

She said: “After many extended trips overseas, I’d always dreamed of becoming location independent.

“It was an easy decision which I made within one hour on a Sunday night. I had my flight booked by 8am the following morning.”

Campbell has visited 58 countries and as a Travel Counsellor, specialising in luxury holidays and honeymoons, she can run her business from any location.

She has now launched a podcast entitled Life in Barbados: A Year on a Paradise Island which will chronicle her time on the island.

“You’ll be able to follow my adventures, live on the ground and experience life in Barbados through my eyes and ears,” said Campbell.

“Whether you’re interested in visiting Barbados yourself, or exploring the idea of location independent living, this is the show for you.”

Campbell is one of 2,000 people who have moved to the island to live and work after obtaining the Barbados Welcome Stamp visa. It is valid for one year but may be re-applied for again.
