Barrhead Travel, Bath Travel and The Co-operative Travel were among a raft of agencies celebrating this week after scooping three awards each at the 16th Agent Achievement Awards.
The event also saw John Donnelly, formerly of Holiday Hypermarket, David Elstob, of Future Travel, and Ben Reid, of The Midcounties Co-operative, awarded outstanding contribution awards.
Barrhead won the large agent categories for Scotland, cruise and online, while Bath Travel won the large agent category for southwest England and south Wales, London and southeast England and leisure high street agent.
The Co-operative Travel won awards for large agent in Northern Ireland, and in northwest England and north Wales.
Simon Myerson, of The Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors, won homeworker of the year.
Other agencies toasting success included Baldwins Travel, Bowen Travel Group, Miles Morgan Travel and Designer Travel, which took home two awards each.
Danielle Leonard of Bowen Travel Group, who won young leisure travel professional, said: “This means everything to me.”
The 21-year-old, who has been with the group for two years, was the company’s top seller in her first full year out of more than 150 staff and is now acting assistant manager.
Breeze Rowlands, manager of Bowen Travel Group’s Lincoln and Market Rasen shops, won the leisure high street manager award. She said: “It’s all about loving your job and working hard day in, day out.”
Ryan Johnston, of Cruise118.com, winner of call centre manager of the year, added: “I’m very honoured to have won and proud of my team.”
