AMERICAN/EVA TIE
American Airlines and Taiwanese carrier Eva Air have formed a marketing alliance to include codesharing on transpacific routes. Joint services will start once governmental approval is granted this winter. Eva already co-operates with American’s partner British Airways on flights to Taiwan.
HANOVER TRIO
British Airways franchise carrier Cityflyer launches thrice-daily Gatwick-Hanover flights on October 31. Service will initially be on ATR72 turboprops, but next spring Avro RJ100 jets will operate the route. Cityflyer said the service will be boosted by next year’s Hannover Expo 2000 show.

Distant Dreams is recruiting a new sales manager for UK and Ireland following the resignation of Phillippa Goldie last month. Goldie had been on maternity leave since May.
ATC MAN MOVES TO LA
The Australian Tourist Commission’s marketing development manager for Europe, South Africa and the Middle East Jonathan Campbell, is moving to the Los Angeles office. Campbell, based in London since 1993, will become marketing, incentive, conference and exhibitions marketing director. The ATC in London is currently seeking a replacement.
GOLDFISH COVER
The Goldfish credit card, 50% owned by British Gas, is to become the latest company launching into the travel insurance market. A spokesman said it will be available for card-holders only. The insurance product is expected to be on sale soon.
