Holiday Cottages Group keeps hold of Investors in People title

THOMSON’S Holiday Cottages Group has retained its Investors In People award, four years after first receiving the recognition.

Ironically, the award comes as Thomson chief executive Charles Gurassa said he may sell the group to concentrate on core air-inclusive businesses.

The award’s retention follows reappraisal by the Training and Enterprise Council.

Managing director Steve Foster said the award was particularly satisfying following constant changes at the group over the past two years.

Training officer Julie Hargreaves said good customer service is key to the success.

“The fact that 70% of business comes from past customers or recommendations reflects the quality of the product and the service,” she said.

Holiday Cottages Group, based in Earby, Lancashire, employs around 350 people. Brands include English Country Cottages, Country Holidays, Blakes Holidays in Britain, Country Cottages in France and Country Cottages in Ireland.
