Buoyant demand prompts Cresta to advance Golf in France launch

CRESTA has brought forward the launch of its Golf in France brochure to capture the early- booking market.

The operator normally launches in November but the increasing popularity of some courses has seen demand outstrip supply on certain dates.

“By launching early agents will be in a position of offer golfing customers the best choice of dates and locations,” said product manager Rhona England.

Altrincham-based Cresta is featuring 58 courses in France – the same as this year – but has added three properties, Les Cedres, near Touquet, L’Auberge in Normandy and Hermitage in La Baule, Brittany.

England said work is being done at the most popular courses, including installing automatic watering systems, to ensure the demand does not affect quality.

Prices have been held at 1999 levels, largely because of the exchange rate, with rates leading in at £76 for three nights at the Regina Hotel in Hardelot.

Early-booking offers include free nights.

Meanwhile, Cresta has appointed Gaynor Stevenson as its first sales rep in Scotland to increase its profile north of the border.
