Seatrade to help agents improve knowledge of cruising trade

TRAVEL agents attending a Seatrade convention in Copenhagen this September will be given the opportunity to participate in a three-day training programme on cruising.

The course will offer training on topics such as new technology, marketing, distribution strategies, product differentiation, group bookings and tailor-made programmes. Seatrade marketing manager Pieter Goosens said the course had been run at conventions in Asia and Australia, but never in Europe before now. “Travel agents have an influence, and cruiselines are listening to them. We also think agents might want to learn more about an industry that is booming,” he said.

Goosens is hoping around 150 European agents will take the course. The price of the course starts from £125 including VAT. The Seatrade North European Cruise and Ferry Convention will take place in Copenhagen from September 15-17. For more details, contact Seatrade’s events department on 01206 545121.
