London hotel turns to flash sales site for leftover Olympic rooms

Flash sales sites are benefitting from the over the top early prices placed on rooms in London during the Olympics according to the founder of Secret Escapes.

The high-end flash sales site has just signed an exclusive deal with Apex City of London to help them shift rooms at a major discount.

Founder Tom Valentine said: “Predicted high occupancy rates and sky-high prices for visitors to London during the Olympic Games are being revised down and hotel revenue managers are keener than ever to look at new ways of boosting occupancy.

“Prices and occupancy rates during the Olympics were always difficult to predict, and we’re very happy to be able to support the games by helping hotels clear their existing supply.

“We’ve got a great record in helping hotels of this calibre fill their empty rooms, be it in London, across the UK or in any of our growing list of world-wide hotel partners and tour operators.

“This is proof that flash sales works and is a viable option for revenue managers.”

The offer is up to 54% off the hotel’s website price during the Olympics with rooms as low as £189 per night based on 2 adults sharing.
