South African Airways is introducing two extrafrequencies betweenHeathrow and Cape Town from November 1. Theadditional flights will depart northbound on a Saturday and a Monday returning from London on a Sunday and a Tuesday. The airline will operate a total of 21 non-stop flights a week, with nine flights to Cape Town and 12 flights to Johannesburg when the new frequencies areintroduced.

BAA has predicted that 359,000 passengers would pass through Gatwick’s two terminals over the Bank Holiday weekend. The busiest day was expected to be Saturday, with 124,000 customers. Most popular destinations include Malaga, Orlando and Dublin.
