P&O STENA Line has announced an unaudited profit of £26.5m for the second quarter of this year. Between March 10 1998 and June 30 last year it made just £6.7m.
The company carried 3.72m passengers and 613,000 vehicles during the second quarter of 1999. P&O Ferries, which includes the rest of P&O’s operations out of the UK, carried 1.21m passengers – up from 1.18m in the same period last year.
