Accor has formed a strategic relationship with Beijing Tourism Group, a Chinese hotel and operator. The company hopes the agreement will accelerate its growth in China. Accor already has five hotels in the country, a Sofitel in Shanghai andNovotels in Hangzhou, Hefei, Shanghai and Zhengzhou.

Hilton Hotels Corporation has announced plans to open an £18m all-suite Hilton Vancouver Airport hotel which will be the first of the brand in British Columbia. The hotel will be aimed at the business traveller with all 237 suites featuring work desks and ergonomic chair, two dual-line telephones equipped with dataport communication points and voicemail and high-speed Internet access.

Best Western Hotels has strengthened its portfolio with the purchase of four new properties. The Park Hall Hotel at Charnock Richard in Chorley; the Regency Park Hotel atNewbury, Berkshire; Moore Place near Milton Keynes; and Rumwell Manor in Taunton.

REZsolutions has appointed Mac Highet as chief executive officer. He succeeds Tom Castleberry who will remain on the board as vice-chairman. Highet joined REZsolutions aspresident and chief operating officer in August 1998 from Reed Elsevier Inc.
