Western & Oriental has appointed two trade sales managers who will split Steve O’Loughlin’s role following his departure at the end of the year as part of a management shake-up.
O’Loughlin’s role as head of trade sales will now be divided into two trade sales managers, one for the north of the UK, and the other for the south, in order to give Western & Oriental “more regular contact with agents”, the company has said.
Nigel Ham, previously sales development manager with Pure Luxury for just over a year after working at Seasons in Style, will be covering the north of the country.
Paul Mellon will be taking on the role covering the south, and was business development manager for Wendy Wu Tours since 2009, after working with Trails of Indochina.
Mellon has already started working in his new role, while Ham begins today (December 4), and both will report to Matthew Rushbrooke, general manager for Western & Oriental.
The two appointments are part of Western & Oriental’s recruitment drive to hire 10 new staff following the departure of a number of senior figures in a management restructure.
Six additional sales staff are joining the company, as well as two new members of the e-commerce team.
