EasyJet begins selling Moscow flights from Manchester

EasyJet started selling seats on its first ever scheduled Manchester to Moscow flights today.

Prices start at £47.49 one way and there will be four flights a week each way from March 28.

UK director Paul Simmons said: “We know that our passengers want to fly directly from their nearest airport rather than having to connect through London – particularly time sensitive business travellers. The new transport link has been welcomed by the business community in the North West – with Russia’s fast growing economy it offers so many opportunities for local companies.”

Simmons said that the route would open up the market, which he claimed would lead to more competition and lower fares.

The flight takes four hours and is on an Airbus A319 with 156 seats onboard.

Flights depart on Wednesdays and Sundays at 07:40 and arrive in Moscow at 14:35 with return flights departing Moscow at 15:15 and arriving into Manchester at 16:25.

On Mondays and Thursdays flights depart Manchester at 13:40 arriving into Moscow at 20:35 and return flights depart Moscow at 21:15 arriving into Manchester at 22:25.
