New Air Canada airline to serve Edinburgh

Air Canada’s new long-haul leisure airline Rouge is to serve Edinburgh as part of its launch destinations next summer.

The airline will start operations in July serving the Scottish capital along with Venice, Athens, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Costa Rica.

Edinburgh will be served from Toronto with a range of introductory fares for Canadian passengers being made available until Christmas Day starting at C$949 return for travel between July and October 2013.

Vice president and chief commercial officer Ben Smith said: “In partnership with Air Canada Vacations, part of our new leisure group, Air Canada rouge will leverage the strengths of Air Canada’s extensive network, operational expertise and frequent flyer reward programme in order to offer Canadians great value for their vacation travel.”
