Freedom Travel Group rapped by ASA

Freedom Travel Group has been ordered to make its holiday price advertising clearer in a ruling over misleading pricing.

The advertising watchdog upheld a complaint against the company over an advert on the Teletext website for seven nights all inclusive in Fuerteventura last August for £361 per person as the price was not available.

The holiday was advertised under FlightandHotel.co.uk for a departure on August 29.

The Advertising Standards Authority said: “We considered that at the time the complainant saw the ad, the holiday was not available at the advertised price.

“We told Freedom Travel Group to ensure that in future they make clear where offers are extremely limited or that they could be withdrawn at any time.”

Freedom told the ASA it had a log showing that the holiday was available at the advertised price of £361 per person all morning on the date in question and that the price was raised at 1pm due to an increase in the flight price.
