BRITISH Airways trade relations manager John Henton has been appointed executive director of the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
He will take up his position on April 4 following his retirement from BA at the end of March.
Henton replaces Julia Hendry who left in acrimonious circumstances in January. AITO chairman John Bennett said: “John has exactly the right level of travel industry experience and excellent contacts with the trade.”
Henton, who has built strong links with the independent sector, said his experience at BA will stand him in good stead.
