Hays Travel has issued the first two brochures for its Faraway in-house tour operation, having made £40 million worth of sales in its first year.
The USA and Canada, and Indian Ocean and Dubai
first editions hit Hays stores this week.
The group wants to see 25% of business in-house in the long-haul and cruise sectors. John Hays, founder and managing director of the northeast miniple, said it was achieving this target.
Speaking at a Barclays Travel Forum filming day ahead of the bank’s event next week, Hays said: “Brochures are not absolutely necessary, but they are food for thought for people. For a multi-channel business they are something physical for people to see.”
Hays Faraway product is contracted centrally by the group and sold under its own Atol.
The group broke the £500 million turnover barrier last year and Hays said 20% of its business was now generated on the high street.
