A British skier fell to his death while tackling an off-piste glacier in the French Alps.
Two Britons were unable to descend the Vallee Blanche near Chamonix on Saturday evening after being caught in a heavy storm.
They alerted emergency services who tried to guide them to shelter by phone, but one skier fell to his death as they walked along a narrow ridge, the BBC reported.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office said it was aware of reports of a British national’s death.
The body of the man, whose name has not been released, was recovered by helicopter.
