More than £8,000 was raised this weekend by a team of cyclists led by Just A Drop founder Fiona Jeffery.

The cyclists were taking part in Nightrider which is a 100km overnight ride around London.

The team set off at 11.30pm and while most of London was getting ready for bed the Just A Drop fundraisers were coated in Lycra and reflective clothing.

Among those who joined Fiona were Nick Sandham from Thomas Cook, Vanda Bauer from Classic Collection and Aspire editor Rupert Murray.

Jeffery said: “A huge thank you to all 14 Just a Drop nightriders who took part on Saturday night raising thousands of pounds for the charity.

“London at night looked spectacular and it was great seeing parts of London we’d never been to before be it Blackheath, Canary Wharf , Alexandra Palace or Hampstead Heath .

“In spite of aching knees and backs we got into the spirit of it all, survived and crossed the finishing line knackered.

“Bacon butties have never tasted so good. Lots of fun in aid of a good cause, what better way to spend a night!”

The money will go towards the charity’s water projects that have so far touched the lives of the poorest people in 30 countries.
