Aito Specialist Travel Agents has revealed plans for a ‘mini Facebook’ and revamped consumer website.
The new online social community will be a forum for members to discuss ideas as well as circulate diary dates for agent events, said chairman Oliver Broad.
It will include an online tour operator directory to replace the printed Aito handbook, which will allow “quick and easy” searches of operator members.
Broad said: “The idea is to bring us all closer together. It’s hard to get people to go to events so this will be an online community where we can all feel part of the club.”
The new aitoagents.com website will allow operators in the organisation’s All Stars scheme to load up holiday offers. The site will include video content, picture galleries, a ‘find an agent’ map, news section and agent profiles with links to Twitter and Facebook pages.
The new site will go live in mid July.
Agents will be able to cash in credits earned for selling Aito All Stars operators as part of its All Stars Incentive scheme for the first time this summer, giving them up to 50% off next year’s membership.
