MEDITERRANEAN Shipping Cruises is to operate a programme of seven-night cruises out of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil between December 1999 and March 2000.
The cruiseline’s ship Rhapsody will call at ports including Vitoria and Porto Seguro.
UK managing director Peter Pate said:”It’s a good alternative to doing seven nights in the Caribbean. We need another winter itinerary for the European market.”
Prices will start at around £1,000 per person, but this has not been finalised.
The programme will feature in MSC’s forthcoming brochure, which is due to be published in September.
Pate said MSC’s ship Melody would operate 11-night Caribbean cruises out of Port Everglades this winter.
