Travelodge creates up to 150 new jobs in recruitment drive

Up to 150 new jobs are being created by Travelodge in the lead up to Christmas.

A recruitment drive for new hotels in Manchester, Southport, Crawley, London Walthamstow and Chertsey calls for 110 staff including receptionists, housekeepers, room cleaners and bar/café roles.

The budget chain is also looking for 20 managers and assistant managers for properties across the UK, including some of the company’s biggest and busiest hotels, such as Bristol and Bath.

The remaining 20 jobs are for positions at Travelodge’s head office in Thame, Oxfordshire in IT, customer services, finance and public relations.

New staff undertake four weeks of training at a nearby Travelodge hotel. They also attend a ‘sleep seminar’ to ensure they are fully equipped to ensure their customers get a good night’s sleep, according to the company.

Chief operating officer Jon Hendry Pickup said: “For anyone who is committed to delivering a first class customer experience, we could well have the perfect career through one of these 150 jobs.

“We are totally committed to developing our people, and we offer a range of further education and training opportunities across the business.

“Our bespoke in-house management programme offers a direct route into management, and to date nearly 500 Travelodge employees have graduated into a management position this way. With Travelodge you don’t just get a job, but a long-term career within a growing company that’s part of a dynamic industry.”
