Finnish air traffic strike called off

A strike by Finnish air traffic controllers which was due to start today (Wednesday) has been called off.


European air traffic body Eurocontrol said an agreement had been reached and the industrial action had been cancelled.


Controllers at the Finnish area control centre in Tampere had threatened to walk out over plans to move operations to a new centre.


Finland’s air traffic control body Finavia had warned of flight delays if the strike had go ahead as planned.
