An 84” touch screen interactive map and interactive tables designed to inspire customers as they research their holidays feature in Thomson’s second holiday design store.
The outlet, which has been in Lord Street in Liverpool for 25 years, has been completely re-modelled with the latest technology.
Set over 1,032 square feet, the store incorporates high definition screens and projections featuring changing images and videos allowing customers to view top ten lists and live weather information, read reviews and view videos of destinations.
Social media feeds will be streamed onto the screens to give prospective holidaymakers a feel of what to expect before they book.
The store is zoned so customers can choose from browsing on their own devices or with staff in the pool area, self-serving on a customer computer at the Advice Bar where staff will be on hand to answer questions. Large booths enable relevant holiday images and video content to be projected on the wall.
Tui UK and Ireland retail director Kathryn Ward said: “The opening of our second holiday design store today is very exciting for the business and demonstrates our commitment to developing the next generation of our retail network.
“Our first store at Bluewater Shopping Centre has proved to be a huge success and it’s great to be able to offer this unique service to our customers in the Liverpool area.
“We’re combining the knowledge and expertise of our people with a range of technology that will really bring choosing and booking a holiday to life and we’re looking forward to welcoming our customers to the store.”
Liverpool Lord Mayor Gary Millar officially opened the store alongside Rachael McCormick and Deborah Gales, holiday advisors who have worked there since it first opened in 1988.
