Three hotels at Gatwick, Luton and Swindon are to close with the loss of 155 jobs.
The closures came as Derby-based Menzies Hotel group was sold to Topland Group, securing the future of 12 other properties and 1,130 staff.
Administrator KPMG said the leaseholds at the three hotels were “unattractive to potential buyers” and the properties would close by today.
The firm said it wanted to save the “majority of jobs across the business”.
Forty-nine of the lost jobs are be in Swindon with the rest at other hotels.
In Swindon, Christmas party bookings were also cancelled by the firm, the BBC reported.
