Cosmos adds villa options as market thrives

COSMOS has predicted the ever-increasing demand for villa holidays will continue in 2000 as it targets growth of 20% over summer ’99.

The operator, speaking at the launch of its new Villas with Pools brochure, said holidaymakers are looking for an fresh alternative to apartment holidays and the quest for something different is hotting up.

“Since we launched the programme in 1996 the villas programme has grown 15% year-on-year,” said product director Danny Talbot. “We expect an even better year in 2000.

“People want to get out of the resorts and into the more remote areas where many of the villas are situated.”

Lanzarote and Florida, which has been re-introduced after an absence of three years, have both been added to the programme and will be offered year-round. They join the existing destinations of the Algarve, Minorca, Majorca, Costa Blanca, Nerja, Gozo and Cyprus.

New to the programme are pre-bookable baby packs, while kids’ club facilities are being offered at hotels in Minorca and Majorca.

Prices start at £289 per person for seven nights at the Villa Tavares in the Algarve including flights and a welcome grocery bag on arrival.
