Only one travel firm makes latest Fast Track 100

A single travel company has made the lastest Sunday Times Fast Track 100 ranking of Britain’s fastest growing private companies.

Travel management company Statesmen Travel came in 70th position in the list which was published yesterday.

The London-based company saw a 62.72% rise on annual sales over three years, to a latest figure of £7.5 million. This came after the acquisition of business travel firm Commodore Travel in 2011.

Business Growth Fund part-financed the acquisition, investing £4.25 million for a minority stake.

Statesman clients clocked up more than half a billion air miles in 2013, according to the report.

Its customers are mainly in the finance, media and professional services sectors, although Statesman also organises specialist trips such as pilgrimages or sports tours for schools.

The top firm in the list – energy efficiency consultancy Anesco – saw sales rise by more than 267% over a three year period.
