Thomson opens third concept store in Bristol

Bristol is the location for a third Thomson next generation ‘holiday design store’ following openings in Bluewater Shopping Centre and in Liverpool last month.

The Bristol branch covers more than 850 square feet and features cutting edge technology such as an 84-inch touch screen interactive map for holiday researching.

Social media feeds will be streamed onto screens in the store to educate and inform customers and give them a feel of what to expect from their holiday before they book.

The store is zoned so people can browse on their own devices or with staff in the pool area, self-serve on a computer where staff will be on hand to answer questions or have a more personalised experience in booths where relevant holiday images and video content will be projected on the wall.

The modern look and feel is enhanced with high definition screens and projections featuring changing images and videos. Here customers can view top ten lists and live weather information, read reviews and view videos of destinations.

Tui UK and Ireland retail director Kathryn Ward said: “The opening of our third holiday design store is very exciting for the business and demonstrates our commitment to developing the next generation of our retail network.

“Our first two stores at Bluewater Shopping Centre and in Liverpool have proved to be a huge success and it’s great to be able to offer this unique service to our customers in the Bristol area.

“We’re combining the knowledge and expertise of our people with a range of technology that will really bring choosing and booking a holiday to life and we’re looking forward to welcoming our customers to the store.”

Lord Mayor Faruk Choudhury officially opened the store alongside Thomson head of sales Jill Carter, shop manager Leanne Farmer and Bristol airport aviation director Shaun Browne.
