The travel trade’s favourite suppliers have been honoured at a spectacular Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards in London.
The event, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, was hosted by James Corden, with additional entertainment coming from classical string quartet Escala, sponsored by Celebrity Cruises, and Rick Parfitt Junior’s RPJ Band, sponsored by Norwegian Cruise Line.
P&O Cruises also chose the occasion to unveil its spectacular new livery, while the British Pullman welcomed guests with a spectacular reception.
Big winners included Trafalgar, which won both the escorted touring and trade sales team categories while sister operator Insight Vacations walked off with the luxury coach award.
Superbreak also took home two awards, for accommodation-only and UK holiday operator, while Royal Caribbean and sister line Celebrity Cruises were named best mainstream and premium cruise lines respectively.
New winners included Do Something Different, which was named best trade friendly brand of the year, and Club Med, which scooped the activity and adventure category.
In the consumer awards, sponsored by Mail Newspapers, winners included Thomas Cook, named best short-haul operator, Virgin Holidays, named best long-haul operator, and Premier Inn, named best hotel chain.
