Earthquake hits Barbados

A 6.7 magnitude earthquake has struck off the Caribbean island of Barbados, according to reports.

The quake, which struck at 9.27 local time, was 203 kilometres northeast of Bridgetown at a depth of about 32 kilometres.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties in Barbados or the nearby islands of Martinique or St Lucia.

So far, no tsunami warning has been issued.
