LTB project to deal with 2000 queries

THE LONDON Tourist Board is setting up a telephone and Internet service offering information on millennium activities in the capital.

The telephone number and Web site address will be printed on ticket wallets for the Millennium Dome and on promotional cards distributed through tourist information centres and other outlets.

The telephone service, which costs 60p a minute, will only be accessible from the UK.

Overseas visitors will have to use the Internet until they reach the UK.

The £400,000 project has been funded by the Government, private companies and organisations such as the London Arts Board.

A limited service is already available, but the scheme will only start working properly in mid-September.

The information line phone number is 09068 663344. The Web site can be found at www.LondonMillenniumCity.com
