P&O EUROPEAN Ferries has ordered a 405-passenger ferry to serve the Liverpool-Dublin route from January 2001.
The 24,500-tonne vessel will replace European Leader, which carries a small number of passengers on crossings between Tuesdays and Saturdays, but mainly serves the freight market. Journey time will be cut from 8hrs to 6hrs once the new ship is launched.
