PSC ROW PROGRESSES
The legal wrangle between ABTA and British Airways over the Passenger Service Charge has moved forward after both sides were required to provide details of case documents by last Friday. Lawyers representing both parties were required to inform each other which documents they would be referring to when attending the High Court hearing on November 8. Meanwhile, BA’s legal department is scrutinising the new rules laid down last week by the European Commission about renegotiating contracts with agents.
REVIEW RESULTS DUE
Thomas Cook is set to announce the results of its brand review in early September. Travel Weekly predicted earlier this year its mass-market Sunworld name would be axed.
FAST FERRY OFFER
Irish Ferries has knocked £100 off the price of its newly-launched fast ferry service, Jonathan Swift, between Liverpool and Dublin. A 10-day return now starts at £388. Similar reductions are being made on the ferry operator’s other routes between Holyhead and Dublin and Pembroke and Rosslare.

Cresta Holidays has made national sales manager Keith Byrnehead of sales and marketing manager Jane Williams head of marketing in recognition of their increased responsibilities.
UNITED APPOINTMENT
United Airlines has appointed vice-president North America sales Judy Bishop as its vice-president Atlantic division. She replaces Graham Atkinson, who has moved to Chicago to be United’s senior vice-president marketing.
