Women 1st announces date and theme for 2014 conference

‘Unlocking your potential’ is the theme of the third annual Women 1st conference to be held in London on July 3.

The event, aimed at emerging female leaders and future talent, includes speakers Carla Buzasi, editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post UK, Women 1st patron Lynne Franks and psychologist Dr. Linda Papadopolous, who has appeared on television and radio programmes such as Big Brother and BBC News.

More speakers for the event at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square are due to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

There will also be two panel sessions with senior leaders and interactive workshops to help delegates “boost their careers, confidence and charisma”.

Tickets can be purchased at a discounted rate of £299 plus VAT before March 31 when the price rises to £349 at women1st.co.uk/conference.

Simone Roche, director of Women 1st, said: “Our research shows that a lack of networking opportunities is one of the biggest barriers to women progressing in our industries and that’s why events like our conference are so important.

“This is a brilliant opportunity for women in travel to meet people and make new contacts, hear first-hand advice from senior leaders, and boost their own skills and confidence.

“The conference isn’t just for women either. Anyone with an interest in the diversity agenda is welcome to attend. We’d love to see more men this year and they’re sure to find it a thought-provoking event.”
