Heathrow names John Holland-Kaye as new boss

Heathrow airport has confirmed that development director John Holland-Kaye will take over as chief executive this summer.

Holland-Kaye will take over from Colin Matthews, who is leaving the airport after six years in the top role.

A former executive at house builder Taylor Wimpey, Holland-Kaye led much of the work on the construction of the airport’s new Terminal 2, which is due to be opened by the Queen next month. He takes on his new role on July 1.

He said: “I am very proud to have been chosen to succeed Colin as chief executive. We have worked closely together for the last five years to improve passenger experience, efficiency and resilience, to a point where Heathrow is increasingly seen as Europe’s hub of choice.

“My aspiration is to improve Heathrow as much in the next five years as we have in the last five years.”
