THE BRITISH Incoming Tour Operators Association has reported a continuing downturn in inbound holiday business for the first half of 1999.
Chief executive Richard Tobias, who received negative reports from almost three-quarters of the tour operators participating in the latest quarterly survey but has not yet collated the figures, is predicting a fall of 4% in the inbound market this year. “We forecast lower numbers in 1999 and the figures for the first six months confirm that. There is little evidence the numbers will change.”
