Brit holidaymaker fighting for life after Turkey knife attack

A British holidaymaker was reported to be fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed while on holiday in Turkey.

Callum Copson, 19, from Kennoway in Fife, was attacked in a row in the resort of Marmaris last Wednesday.

Turkish doctors at a hospital in Marmaris worked for hours to save him in two operations.

He sustained the injury to his stomach after stepping in to protect his girlfriend after angry shop staff started throwing belts, bags and shoes at her in a row over a refund for a faulty bag, the Times reported.

As he tried to shield her, a local boy snatched a knife and attacked Copson before running off.

A 14-year-old boy was later remanded in custody and ordered a psychiatric evaluation.
