Center Parcs profits up 10%

Center Parcs saw profits rise 10% from £18.6 million to £20.6 million in the last financial year.

Turnover for the year to April 24, 2014, which does not include the newly-opened Woburn Forest village – was £315 million, up from £304 million the previous year, according to weekend reports.

This year’s figures are expected to be boosted by the fifth park, which opened last month in Bedfordshire.

The company, owned by the buyout firm Blackstone, said that the resort’s trading in its first few weeks had been strong but declined to divulge specific figures, the Sunday Times reported.

Center Parcs’ four other resorts had occupancy levels of 97% last year, according to its latest accounts.

The number of employees increased from 5,303 to 5,426.
