Merger talks between global distribution system companies Amadeus and Worldspan have gone cold, but rumours have surfaced that Worldspan is now in discussions with Galileo.
A Galileo spokeswoman refused to comment, but Worldspan said: “Worldspan is always open to considering business relationships that will add to its long-term success as long as the relationship provides greater benefits to its customers, owners and employees.”
n best western adds new hotel to portfolio
Best Western has added the Park Hotel, Leisure and Conference Centre at Charnock Richard in Lancashire to its portfolio. The hotel will now be marketed using the chain’s resources as well as benefiting from its national and international sales, reservations, purchasing, IT and training opportunities. The hotel will appear in Best Western’s short-breaks programme as it is next to the Camelot Theme Park.
