Flight Centre clinches three-year Queensland promo deal

Flight Centre has clinched a commercial partnership to market the Queensland tourism sector to holidaymakers globally over the next three years.

Group managing director Graham Turner said the agreement represents a 52-weeks-a-year approach to marketing the Australian state.

Flight Centre UK managing director Chris Galanty said: “We are very excited about our partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland as it is a prime destination for our customers and we look forward to launching some inspiring campaigns across the UK.

“We believe this partnership will help grow visitor numbers to Queensland from the UK particularly as we gear up for major events such as the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.”

Queensland tourism and major events minister Jann Stuckey said: “The partnership will deliver fantastic dividends for Queensland’s tourism industry attracting more visitors to the state with a focus on attracting Australian travellers as well as international tourists from the key visitor markets of the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

“The Queensland government’s 20-year plan for tourism outlines the importance of partnering with industries in a unified approach to supporting the growth of tourism in the state, working toward the goal of A$30 billion in overnight visitor expenditure by 2020.”
