Aer Lingus September carryings edge over 1m mark

Aer Lingus passenger carryings rose by 5.3% in September to edge over the one million mark.

Short-haul numbers were up by 1.2% to 784,000 over the same month last year while long-haul passengers increased by more than 27% to 138,000.

The Irish carrier’s regional services saw numbers rise by 12.3% to 119,000.

The rolling total for the year to September rose by 4.5% to almost 8.7 million, the airline outlined today.
