Three Freedom Travel Group members have switched to join the Co-op Consortium run by Midcounties Co-operative Travel.
The addition of Freedom Travel & Cruise in Lancashire, Travel with Jules in Suffolk and Holywell Travel in North Wales takes the total number of businesses in the independent travel consortium to 30.
Travel with Jules, set up in 2011 by Julie Croucher, offers a range of bespoke worldwide trips. After spending six years in Africa, Croucher provides advice on safaris, and specialises in tailor-made US road trips and wildlife holidays around the world.
Family-business Freedom Travel & Cruise was formed in 2005 by Geraldine Yiatrou and David Booth and is run alongside their daughter Melissa. The company offers luxury holidays, with a focus on worldwide cruises.
Holywell Travel, owned by Brian Loynton, was established in 2007 and specialises in honeymoon packages and Florida holidays. The business focuses on cruises, including breaks departing from its local port of Liverpool.
Head of consortium, Alison Holmes, said: “It’s great to be adding three exciting travel agencies to the consortium. They all have such unique and interesting expertise and have each built a loyal customer base by specialising in particular types of holiday.
“We wish all three agents every success with the Co-op Consortium and look forward to working alongside them as they continue to develop.”
The consortium provides its members with marketing support, technical training and assistance, as well as group membership of Abta and Atol, helping to provide lower operating costs.
