Acable-car breakdown at the Floeya peak near Tromso in Norway left 40 Royal Caribbean International passengers stranded in the air for around 8hrs. The shore-excursion party from the vessel Splendour of the Seas, which included some seven Britons, were finally rescued following a helicopter operation.

The move is intended to gather information about the cruiseline’s passengers and their lifestyles. Ferry operator Fjord Line has revamped and enlarged the children’s area on its ship Jupiter, which sails between Newcastle and Bergen in Norway. The new Club Active is a supervised play area for children over four years old. Staff will be able to contact parents over the public-address system if they are needed in the area.
