FIRST Choice upmarket brand Sovereign is targeting the family market in its Summer Sunshine 2000 brochure with new hotels and child discounts.
The programme also features 12 additional resorts, two Tuscany self-drive tours and the Spanish Al Andalus Express.
Marketing manager Stephanie Pritchard said it was vital to boost its focus on families with strong rival competition.
“In this highly competitive premium market, our aim is to extend the appeal of Summer Sunshine to include younger families,” she said.
A contemporary image for the brochure will help to capture the market as well as appeal to its existing clients, she added.
Family friendly hotels have been added which include children’s activity and play areas, early meals and babysitting and listening services.
New resorts include Patalavaca in Gran Canaria, La Chayofa in Tenerife, Puigpunyent in Majorca, Mijas Costa in Andalucia, Aghios Ioannis in Corfu and Bodrum in Turkey.
Prices lead in at £278 for a week’s self-catering at the Galeon Apartments in Puerto Pollensa in Majorca.
The two self-drives feature the Cities of Tuscany tour and the Gastronomic Tour of Tuscany while the five-night Al Andalus Express takes in Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Ronda.
Sovereign has also launched its 2000 villas programme with eight new resorts, including Tenerife.
The introduction of villas in the island follows demand for extra capacity in the Canary Islands.
Other new resorts are at St Petersburg in Florida, Speracedes and St. Laurant du Var near Nice, Rosano Sull’Arno, Montaione and Vinci in Tuscany, Elba, Pomos in Cyprus, Victoria in Goxo and Praia da Luz on the Algarve.
Premier villas have been added in France, Italy, Cyprus and the Algarve.
Prices start at £309 for a week at the self-catering Toscamar Villas on the Costa Blanca.
Pritchard said the increase in Premir villas establishes the operator as leading player at the upper end of the market.
