New diving spots bolster Hayes and Jarvis offers

HAYES and Jarvis has added

European diving locations to its 1999/2000 brochure after admitting it was losing out to its rivals.

Cyprus, Corfu, Lanzarote, Malta and Turkey all join the existing long-haul destinations with the operator looking to carry 1,000 passengers in the first year.

All European holidays are based on charters with Air 2000, the in-house airline of Hayes and Jarvis owner First Choice.

Product manager Robert Sanday said the operator realised it was failing to tap into a major market.

“I have wanted to expand into Europe and the charter flights provided by Air 2000 gave us that opportunity,” he said. “We were losing out by not offering Europe but now I hope we can start to pick up business.”

New programmes have also been added to its long-haul product.

Its Red Sea programme has been expended to include Masa Alam and Soma Bay south of Hurghada while in the Caribbean a new Turks and Caicos Islands programme has been added.

Koh Phi Phi is new in Thailand – some of the country’s remotest sites are accessible from the island.

Hayes and Jarvis is also continuing its growth in Mexico with new programmes in Playacar and Cozumel.

Malaysia and Borneo have also been bolstered with two new hotels at Layang Layang in eastern Malaysia and Sangalaki island off the southern tip of Borneo.

“This is very much a worldwide brochure,” added Sanday.
