Cyrpus to rival Canaries for top spot in winter sun league

CYPRUS is close to establishing itself as a major winter destination with prices and accommodation to rival the Canaries, Olympic Holidays has claimed, following the launch of its winter 1999/2000 brochure.

National sales manager Steve O’Loughlin said: “Prices to Cyprus are very competitive with the Canaries and accommodation standards are higher.”

The programme features the five resorts with accommodation ranging from self-catering apartments to five-star hotels.

Offers include free car hire for holidays completed between November 1 1999 and March 31 2000 and early-booking discounts of £20 to £60 per couple for reservations made before the end of September.

For the millennium, Olympic has added a cruise departing Limassol on December 23 and taking in Israel, Egypt and the Greek Islands with a January 1 stay in Athens. The 10-night cruise costs £739.
