EASYJET EXPANSION


EasyJet will launch up to three daily flights from Stansted to Geneva this winter. The low-cost carrier is also considering Stansted-Liverpool flights following a decision to launch thrice-daily Luton-Liverpool services on October 1.


ABTA BOOKINGS


Bookings for the ABTA Convention in Cairns opens for ordinary members today. Sponsors can apply from next Monday and non members from July 22. The association is expecting 2000 delegates to attend the convention.


BM MOSCOW LAUNCH


British Midland has set an October launch date for daily Heathrow-Moscow flights. The airline had hoped to start services earlier but has yet to gain agreement from Russian authorities.


AB AIRLINES CUTS


AB Airlines will be left with just one route for the winter following a decision to make the daily Gatwick-Nice flight a summer-only operation. The carrier is considering cutting its remaining service, Gatwick-Shannon, back from its current thrice-daily to twice-daily or daily. The decision coincides with the stepping down of chairman Brian Beal to become non-executive deputy chairman.


HERTZ SALES RESHUFFLE


Hertz Europe vice-president leisure services Bill Jones’ role has been given a wider remit which include sales and marketing.


ITT FAVOURS LAS VEGAS


Las Vegas has emerged as one of the favourite destinations for the Institute of Travel and Tourism conference next May. A decision is expected in September.
