BRITISHAirways and its partners are operating more than half of the new Paddington Station airline check-in desks.
Oneworld carriers BA, Qantas and Canadian Airlines have 13 check-in desks, while American Airlines has four.
The other 10 desks out of the 27 are split between other major Heathrow carriers.
Star Alliance airlines, including Lufthansa, SAS, Air Canada and United Airlines, have six, British Midland two and Swissair two. The first 5,000 Star Alliance passengers to use the check-in facilities at Paddington – which opened two weeks ago – receive free travel on Heathrow Express. The desks allow passengers to check-in all luggage at Paddington and catch the Heathrow Express to the airport at their leisure. The next step is for airlines to include the £10 and £20 Heathrow Express fare in with airline ticket prices. British Midland already offers a combined ticket, while BA is currently talking to BAA about an inclusive deal.
Both Paddington and Heathrow Express are shown in computer reservation systems.
