A former Hertz International sales and marketing chief has been named as managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for American Express Global Business Travel.
Elyes Mrad was sales and marketing senior vice president at the car rental giant.
Previously he was managing director for Hertz Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Mrad will be based in London and report to Amex Global Business Travel president and chief executive Bill Glenn.
“Elyes’s proven record with international commercial development and enhancing performance efficiencies are an ideal match for our growing business in the region,” Glenn said.
“Elyes has a wealth of experience serving the needs of multi-cultural operations from some of the most respected brands in the world. His focused approach to customers and relationships are aligned with our customer-centric organisation and plan for global expansion.”
Mrad will be responsible for driving a strong retention and acquisition strategy in the region through servicing, product and marketing strategies appropriate to local needs, the company said.
