Only three businesses from the travel sector have made it onto the latest league table of the fastest growing private companies by sales.
Only holiday park operator Bridge Leisure, travel management company Redfern Travel and fledgling hotel operator Corbin & King make the Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
The annual listing ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest-growing sales over their latest three years.
Bridge Leisure appears in 26th position with three year average sales growth of 95.39% thanks to acquisitions and sales of £9.7 million in 2013/14.
The company owns three holiday parks in Cornwall, Yorkshire and Ayrshire, while managing another six across the UK. Majority owned by private equity house Kings Park Capital, it also provides management and consultancy for the caravan park industry.
Bradford-based Redfern Travel is ranked in 50th place with three year average sales growth of 69.14% and sales of £202.5 million in 2013/14 based on total bookings.
The travel management company, founded in 1937, manages travel reservations for 10 government departments and has developed an automated online booking system that reduces costs for firms by suggesting time and money-saving trips.
Cafés and brasserie company Corbin & King, which opened its first hotel, the Beaumont in London’s Mayfair in October, appears in 99th position on the list with three years sales growth of 44.57% and 2013/14 sales of 35.4 million.
Top of the list with three year average sales growth of 374.94% was energy efficiency consultancy Anesco.
